Family, Small Business, & high net worth individuals
Christian Family Business Owners & High Net Worth individuals and their families have special needs at time of separation and divorce. People’s first inclination is to turn to their business’s law firm to prepare for divorce. Just like any other situation, 1 Cor 6:1-6 directs us to not sue each other (which is what hiring a lawyer is doing) but rather appoint the least amongst us in the Church to resolve the issues. As peacemakers, Christian Divorce Services, will help you resolve all the same issues that you otherwise would ask a secular court to impose a decision on you about.

The secular court will dictate how you each will raise your children, how you will divide your investment portfolio, how your business will be valued and divided, how you will manage retirement plans, manage support, and more. Every aspect you your future life will be directed to you by the court and contained in a court order, whether you are a spouse owing a business, the spouse of the business owner, or you both are joint owners.

We believe that with the help of a neutral Christian legal mediator, who does not favor the wife or the husband, but rather works for the family; you can come out with a better result, more efficiently, and in a more Biblically consistent manner. That expert though, needs to be a Christian who is well versed in family business, small business, and investments, as well as separation and divorce. Someone who you are confident is not biased. Someone who understands the nuances associated with both Christian family businesses at time of divorce and high net worth families at time of divorce.
Our expert third party neutral will sit down with the two of you and help you work through an out of court settlement in a fair manner, and with a fair outcome. You will ultimately have your settlement signed by a judge and it then becomes an order of the court. That court order is the same order of separation or divorce as you would have if you had taken the traditional lawyer up and sue approach. It is just as enforceable because it is the same order of separation or divorce. It is just that you reached that court order in a more Biblically correct process that is customized to your business and family, rather than the traditional “one size fit all” approach seemingly so often taken by the secular courts.
“Protect yourself” is often the advice you are given by loving family and friends. But how does an affluent Christian or business owner “protect themselves” at time of divorce and what do you need to protect yourself from? There are some really important issues to think about relative to protecting yourself
